Since the 70s they've been blending elements of pop, punk and even metal in a way that is instantly catchy and recognizable. With timeless classics such as "I Want You to Want Me," "Surrender," and the late 80s lighter-waving favorite, "The Flame," CHEAP TRICK are a musical institution. They released "Rockford" (named for the band's hometown) on their own imprint in June 2006. Anyone familiar with Comedy Central's The Colbert Report will note that CHEAP TRICK wrote and performed the theme song. With more than 5,000 performances, 20 million records sold, 29 movie soundtracks and 40 gold and platinum recording awards, the band was honored in October 2007 by the Chicago Chapter of NARAS (National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences) for their contributions to the music industry. CHEAP TRICK are currently featured in the latest John Varvatos ad campaign. The Story of JOAN JETT begins with a young girl's dream to play rock and roll music, who quickly becomes a Rock Star and takes that star to movies, tv, video, and finally, the Great White Way. While still in her early teens, Joan, often called, "the girl Elvis", founded the seminal all rock group THE RUNAWAYS, whose hits such as "Cherry Bomb" made them an international sensation. Her next group, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, sold millions of albums, has been a staple in the Top 10 charts and claims the #28 song of all time, "I Love Rock n' Roll", which was the number 1 on the billboard charts for 8 weeks after 23 major record labels refused to give her a deal. Joan's many innovative music videos are a staple of MTV and VH-1. Her songs are like the background music of our lives, and can be heard not only on radio, but also in scores of movies and television as well. Aside from being one of the most durable live concert attractions, Joan Jett is the first female rock recording artist to own her own record label and has a set standard for women in the industry.
